After chating with people about Lily, this web page and what not I've seen a lot of peoples concerns come to light. So here's a little "back story". I met Lily in a yahoo chat room (a Houston one I think). My experience has been that people who speak english as a second language like to come in english only chat rooms so they can better learn the language. Since then (a month or so ago) our conversations have mainly been about proper english.

We only get to talk while she is at work and I find myself helping her with stuff like how to word an invoice or some type of email and so on. It wasn't until a day or so ago that we began talking about her wanting to come to America and the fact that lack of funds is one of the big things holding her back.

I'm not an immigration expert; I just started reading on it last night which is when it came to my attention that she is much better versed on this topic than me. So I'm trying to raise any money I can to help her and she's handling the rest.

I am doing this because it's no skin off my back to throw together this web site. However my concern is that without outside help it may take Lily years to gather enough money to make it to America. Even then she has major concerns about not having a job here or a place to live once she arrives.
